Navigating international university applications from India has long been a complex and fragmented experience for prospective students. Traditionally, applicants relied on local consultancy agencies that operated through manual workflows, variable advice, and often opaque admissions criteria. Students planning to pursue higher education in major destination countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand frequently found it difficult to evaluate where their academic scores, personal budgets, and long-term career ambitions aligned best. Daljeet Sandhu observed these operational hurdles across ten years of working directly within international education recruitment networks. The traditional advisory model regularly left candidates uncertain about their genuine probability of gaining university entry, securing scholarships, or meeting visa requirements.

To address these persistent structural delays and bring transparency to the admissions process, Sandhu founded Edvia in 2025 alongside a dedicated leadership team including Twinkle Sandhu, Robert Easen, and Somya Sharma. The platform operates as an automated study abroad advisor engineered specifically for Indian students seeking international degrees. Applicants input their academic transcript details, subject choices, standardized test scores, and overall financial parameters directly into the interface. In response, the system evaluates the candidate profile against an extensive global database covering more than 850 higher education institutions and 12,000 individual degree programmes across 20 countries, returning tailored shortlists in under a minute.

The underlying technology relies on algorithmic matching to calculate direct fit scores for each listed university course. An automated assistant runs round-the-clock query support, helping applicants clarify entry prerequisites, annual tuition expenses, and country-specific study visa policies without needing physical consultation appointments. In addition to initial programme discovery, the platform supports candidates through practical preparation tasks such as drafting statements of purpose, compiling verified application portfolios, and completing mock visa interview sessions. This structured framework allows prospective students to evaluate options ranging from postgraduate data analytics degrees to undergraduate computer science programmes with clear financial and academic transparency.

Drawing from deep domain expertise that previously facilitated over 10,000 student admissions worldwide, Edvia provides its core discovery tools at zero cost to prospective applicants. International institutions popular among users on the platform include the University of Leeds, the University of Manchester, Durham University, Kingston University, and the University of Auckland. Beyond academic matching, the platform offers centralized tracking dashboards that update candidates as their admissions packages move from initial submission to official offer letters. This streamlined approach minimizes administrative overhead for students while enabling global admissions staff to receive better-qualified applicant files.

As Edvia prepares to present its technology platform at Web Summit 2026, the company is expanding its operational relationships with academic institutions across more than 50 countries. Upcoming platform developments focus on integrating secondary logistical services, including international flight booking guidance and pre-arrival housing support, directly into the primary student dashboard interface. By digitizing early-stage university matching while maintaining human support for complex visa procedures, Edvia is establishing a simpler, more accessible entry point for Indian students navigating global education pathways.
